Jason F. Shafer

Mr. Shafer joined HCP in 2007 from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.  Prior to business school, Mr. Shafer worked from 2004 to 2006 at Chicago Growth Partners, a $275 million lower-middle market private equity firm, where he focused on acquiring and managing growth buyout investments in the business services, education, industrial growth and technology industries.  Before Chicago Growth Partners, he worked at William Blair Capital Partners, a middle market private equity firm with $1 billion under management, where he focused primarily on growth equity investments.  Mr. Shafer started his career as an investment banker at Thomas Weisel Partners in San Francisco and New York, where he completed public and private mergers & acquisitions, public equity offerings and private placements.

Mr. Shafer earned a BA in economics, with honors, from Vanderbilt University and an MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
